Bubbles in NEW window tint?

Question

I got my windows tinted by a professional company who offer lifetime warranty.

There are numerous bubbles and lines all across the tint in various places especialy the back window.

I asked the tinter why this was happening, he said that newly applied tint usually carries these imperfections for a few days until the tint rests properly.

He told me with sunlight after 2-3 days these lines and bubbles will go away and the tint will sit flush.

Well its been one day and not much has changed, and to make it worse we have not had a dash of sunlight since he applied the tint so im very stressed and worried.

Was what the tinter said true? will these imperfections rest after it gets a day or so of sunlight? if so is there any harm if i do not see proper sunlight for a couple of days?

I have heard good things about this company so I’m confused as to what he is saying has some sort of truth to it.

Please be as informative as you can as im very worried.

It sounds like he's telling you the truth. I've read several places on the internet that this is not uncommon. Here's something from one site:

"During the summer the film can dry in a few hours, but in the colder winter months, the film could take up to a few weeks to fully dry. It is important to remember that during this time the window will appear cloudy and there may be some small water bubbles. Don't worry about these bubbles, they are just caused by excess moisture trapped between the glass and the film forming a kind of 'blister'. Under no circumstances should you squeegee, prod, or poke these water blisters, they will disappear once all the water has evaporated."

So hope for some sunny warm weather! After that, if you still have imperfections, I'd give the tinter a call. Maybe there is some kind of guarantee on your invoice?
