Budgies and cocktails together?

i have 7 budgies and i just got a cockatail

can i put them together in the same cage ?

do cockateils and budgies get along?

It depends. Do they play well together out of the cage? Try putting the cockatiel in the cage and watch it closely.

No do not put the cocktail in with the budgies.

Not a good idea. Parakeets are capable of killing cockatiels.

YEAH THY WILL BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO KEEP THE NEW BIRD APART FOR A FEW DAYS TO MAKE SURE IT IS NOT SICK  OTHER THAN THAT  THEY ALL GET ALONG WELL

yes it does depend on the cage size and also the age of the birds , younger birds are more accepting than older birds.

let them play together for a while (but have them "living" in separate cages) to see how they react , if they get along allow them to visit each others cages (and keep the cage door open so it can leave when it wants) ...work it up to staying over night and eventually living in the same cage.

dont push it though especially if they dont like eachother at first!

Budgies have more energy than cockatiels so it's not a good idea.  They're known for picking at toes and wanting to clean each other, cockatiels don't do that.  They'll drive him nuts and if too many go after him at once it could get violent.  The cockatiel would not win.  Budgies have been known to bite the toes right off cockatiels.

Separate cages.  

They can get along quite well through the bars of a cage though.  My cockatiel and budgie do, until the cockatiel gets too close and the budgies starts picking at his feet.
