Bugs and Hamsters???

Question

I reccently learned that hamsters can eat bugs, but what I wanted to know was what kind of bugs can they eat. If you know please tell me because I heard that they're good for a hamsters nutrition.

Hamsters can eat live moths, mealworms, and crickets.  You can get the crickets and mealworms from the pet store since they are sold for reptiles.  Moths you can catch by a porch light, but some Hamsters are frightened by the insects and will refuse to go near them.  I obtained my information about this from a wonderful book put out by Animal Planet that is completely about the care of Hamsters (published by T.F.H Publications).   The book also suggests that you only feed them live food as a treat and only one or two every few days.   I've learn alot about my Hamster from this book!  Take Care.
