The German League supporters held silent protests at all the games in mid-week to show their discontent at the proposal to limit the standing space in stadiums
German football fanatics have been observing mute protests during the domestic league games after hearing the plans of reduced standing in the arenas. Bundesliga and German cup winning side Borussia Dortmund’s fans also joined
in on the protests in their team’s recent league outing on Tuesday.
The much talked security proposals by the German Football League (DFL) suggested that the away supporters’ ticket allocations for the league games will be reduced to half of the amount that it is currently. As a result, fans’
groups have vented out their frustration at the Safe Stadium Experience.
The supporters voiced their concerns in the Bundesliga matches on Tuesday by staying silent for the opening 12 minutes and 12 seconds of every clash. The time allocated is in reference to the date 12 December, when the clubs
will decide on the given proposal.
A large number of fans united for the cause and ProFan group official Philipp Markhardt claimed that the reaction is to demonstrate the importance of the supporters in the league games.
"The protest is to show the clubs what it would be like if we were not there," the spokesman of the ProFan group was quoted as saying in an interview.
