When you are trying to loose weigh does the fat go from where you are exercising or from all over your body?

For example, if I am cycling will I only loose fat from my legs or will I loose it from my stomach as well?

Thanks

  1. The answer is yes, BUT only if you have a proper exercise program put together. so ask your doctor or physio. So without a proper exercise program you cant do what is called spot reduction because spot reduction only tones, adds more muscle and burns your allover fat, not fat in a specific place.

  2. u helps every where

now im going for a fry up

  3. You cannot focus on any area to lose fat. your body 'decides' where to lose the fat according to your genes.

  4. FACT. You cannot chose where to lose fat. For years it was thought that if you do sit ups you lose fat from the stomach but it is now proven you don't.

  5. You will lose fat from all over your body, but you should vary your workout anyway.  When you start burning calories it comes off your whole body, but you will start putting on muscle in your legs if you are only using your legs.

Would recommend adding some abdominal and upper body exercise too.

  6. from past experience you loose fat from the thinnest part of your body first, usually ankles, wrist, if you are cycling it will tone up the leg muscles.
