Buying a FALCON?

is it possable to buy a falcon or do i have to be a member of a club? will i need a lisence and what age bird do you recomend, where should i buy one?

Falcons aren't pets.  They are trained hunters, who must be worked every day.

You need a falconry licence and 2 years of apprenticeship (in Washington but all states are different). Get a younger bird... you have to catch them... different states have different trap requirments

Falcons are wild animals, I don't think you could legally own one. Consider a domesticated bird. Wild animals deserve their respect and freedom. A falcon deserves to be able to fly free in the woods not in a persons house. So please reconsider.

It is illegal to own a falcon as a pet.  Sure, licensed falconers can own them..but once again NOT as pets.  If you are interested in falconry you would have to go through a lot of training and do an apprenticeship with an already established falconer.  You would eventually be able to obtain your own license and permits and own a bird.  You would still be help accountable to laws and inspections through the US Fish and Game/ US Fish and Wildlife Service See more info here:

It is possible to buy a captive bred falcon ,but as you seem to know so little about this subject then I think that you cannot be serious about having one.

Falcons are not kept like other pet birds. They need an aviary or free reign of the house to fly in. They should be trained to the lure which requires training for the owner & then the bird can be flown free & will return when called.

Please reconsider your choice of 'pet'.

Wild birds should live in the wild.
