Buying a Sky Plus box?

I have a subscription to Sky and pay for all the channels (sport,movies etc) but I don't have Sky Plus. Can I just buy a Sky Plus box off ebay and swap it with my current box?

You can buy the box off e-bay - my partner did this.

But you then have to get someone to install it because of the two feeds and then you have to ring Sky to get them to upgrade you to Sky+ subscription which confuses them when you tell them you don't need the box!

But persevere and it is more than worth it - we never miss an episode of our favourite shows or movies anymore!

Phone SKY, ask them about SKY+, I did and got upgraded to SKY+ for £49 installed, they are worried about competition from FREESAT so they are trying to keep customers, they are not asking for £10 a month subscription either.

No, you need to get it installed. Sky+ had 2 antenna feeds from the dish (allows you to watch & record at the same time)

It's a great piece of equipment though - worth the cost
