Buying new figure skates?

So I am going to get new skates and my parents said they are not going to get me new ones unless I explain why they are better. I am thinking of getting Riedell's and my parents want to know why the more expensive ones are better than 20 dollar ones. I just don't really know what to tell them. Any ideas?Thanks!

I would say the best reason for getting better skates would be for the support.... support that you can not get in a pair of $20 skates. With better support there is less chance of an injury. Also they are built with better materials so they will last longer as well! Cheep skates also may hold you back from advancing to higher levels and learning new things that you need the extra support for. Most $20 skates are poorly constructed.
