I'm American and only watch the NFL. Could somebody please tell me all the CFL Teams? Please tell me who some good players are and what team they're on and what position they are. Thanks.

  1. The first answer is the best, I can only add that each team has a web site and player profiles that list home towns and colleges. Lots of good American college players end up in Canada and have good careers.

    Go Riders.

  2. There are 8 CFL Teams:  BC Lions, Edmonton Eskimos, Calgary Stampeders, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Toronto Argonauts and the Montreal Alouettes.

Last year's leading passer was Ricky Ray (of Edmonton) followed by Anthony Calvillo (of Montreal).  Dave Dickenson (of BC) had the highest efficiency rating.

Geroy Simon (of BC) was named League Most Oustanding Player in 2006.  Brent Johnson (also of BC) was named the Outstanding Defensive Player and the Outstanding Canadian player.

  3. go to yahoo search and type in canadian football and i'm sure you'll find something.

  4. Jeffery S, why don't you go back to the states and quit bugging us.  We don't force you to watch CFL, don't force people to watch the No Fun League. (By the way, I do watch the NFL and follow the Dolphins and Seahawks, but I would rather watch a CFL game).  The CFL I feel is a superior game.  You have 1 less down to work with as well as a field that is 10 yards longer.  The first answer is good, I can't do much better.  I love the Eskies and Riders.  Just remember that most of the players who come up from the states didn't get a fair shot from the NFL and that teams have very long memories and if a player tries to go back, the teams usually already have their minds made up and they don't get a fair shot again.

  5. Ottawa Rough Riders best team ever. J.C. Watts .

  6. The guy above gave you the teams...though there are also the Ottawa Renegades...who are likely folded for good, but I don't think the league has shut that door yet.

  7. Come on man!! As a fellow American, I ask you, why would you want to even consider watching the CFL??  It is vastly inferior to the NFL, don't waste your time.

Example. The gentleman who answered you earlier gave you the names of Ricky Ray, Anthony Calvillo, Dave Dickenson, Geroy Simon, and Brent Johnson. Guess what? All but Johnson are Americans and either couldn't cut it in the NFL or didn't even get a look. In Ray's case, he couldn't even stick as the third string quarterback with the Jets, behind weak-armed Chad Pennington. Now he's the top quarterback in Canada. Shouldn't that tell you something about how the CFL compares to the mighty NFL which many Canadians follow very closely? Toronto is practically begging for an NFL team, which I hope never happens.

I agree with roadieboy. Lots of GOOD American college players end up in the CFL. The GREAT ones are playing in the NFL.

Please, keep watching the NFL, for your own sake!

Jason B, off with you, my friend. Where's a darn fly swatter when I need one. BZZZZZ! BTW, I am not "bugging you" I am simply responding to a question posed by an American, which is the purpose of Yahoo answers. Did I hurt your little feelings? awwwwww. And I am "back in the States" and using my right to free speech!! God Bless America! I'm also on Yahoo which is an AMERICAN corporation. I hope you enjoy what we've provided for you, EH??

I'll say what I want, and if you don't like it, then I shouldn't tell you which part of my American anatomy that you can kiss!  I'm sure I speak for Americans in the service industry who receive little or no tips from their Canadian customers when I say that. NFL rules!!
