CHARITY....help meee pls?

Question

ok so i need to do some kind of charity/ fundraising event at my school that would be school wide and have a large profit obtained... but i have no clue where to begin. I was thinking of selling things and then kicking back the profit to a charity but i dont know which one, and then i was thinking like a competition between clases but i have no clue where to begin with that one either............

big dilema and i need to do this soon

any opinions?

We had a great fund raiser earlier this year at a school I am involved with.  It was called count your blessings.  It was volunteer participation.  Each child got to total all things they had to be grateful for and pay whatever they chose for each blessing.  For instance they could list an ipod, their dog, their siblings,a safe home and then pay a nickel, a dime  or a quarter each.  Of course you can do this in many ways, but it helps the kids think about what they have rather than what they don't have.  Best of all it's all profit except for the paper to print out the flyer to go home.  Best of luck in your project!!
