Question:

CPU multiplier switches?

I was told the q6600 has a feature that switches the multiplier down when it doesn't need the extra performance. Should I keep this enabled? Will it extend the life of my processor? If I disable it will I notice better performance all of the time?

  1. You shouldn't notice a difference in performance because if it is switching the multiplier down when it doesn't need the extra performance it should switch back up when you do need it. so i don't think you will notice much of a performance difference but it should save electricity when it multiplies down.
