i have the equation (3a^2-a+2)^2 and i cant remember wat the rule is to square a polynomial

The formula is simply:

(ax^2 + bx + c) (ax^2 + bx + c)

ax^2(ax^2 + bx + c) + bx(ax^2 + bx + c) + c(ax^2 + bx + c)

Therefore:

3a^2(3a^2 - a + 2) + (-a)(3a^2 - a + 2) + 2(3a^2 - a + 2)

9a^4 - 3a^3 + 6a^2 - 3a^3 + a^2 - 2a + 6a^2 - 2a + 4

combine like terms:

9a^4 - 6a^3 + 13a^2 - 4a + 4
