Calculating grade help?

85% of my grade for this class is based on 5-7 exams. can anyone help me learn how to calculate this step by step? as of right now i got 90% on my first test and i think i got between an 85 and 88% on the second test. i would love to get an A in this class. am i in good shape? does anyone know how to calculate where i'm as of now? the rest consists of participation so basically my grade is based on those tests and i need to do good on all of them! assume that my participation is perfect or close to perfect and 90% is the cutoff for an A and all scores are averaged in to make the 85% help on calculating the possibilities would be appreciated as well. :)

  1. just add up your test scores (as a percentage) then divide by the number of the tests you've taken.  and that would be 85%, or 0.85 of your total grade.

For example, you've had 5 tests, and you get 90, 96, 84, 92, 88... so you add them up and divide by 5 to get your average.  Then take the average and multiply by 0.85  for the 85% of your grade.   and add the rest to it....

    good luck
