California DMV renew drivers license?

Question

My Ca drivers license expire almost more than a year ago, I have lost the letter before it expired which had the PIN so i can renew online, so now I will have to make an appointment at the DMV in person,

what documents are required to renew my drivers license please?

car insurance?

SSN?

proof of residence??

please advise.

Since you've posted this, you're obviously on the internet. Go to http://www.dmv.ca.gov and check out licensing requirements. The site will also have phone numbers for your local DMV office. Then you'll have the official requirements, and not hearsay on here.

When the DMV mails out the renewal-by-mail notices it has a PIN # printed on it to renew over the internet.  If you lost the notice, there is no way to retrieve the PIN.  The PIN # is not stored in the database and no employee can find it and there is no way to reprint or send out another notice.  You must appear in person, complete an application, and have a mandatory photo taken.  No documents are required other than your current license.
