California State Budget?

No it hasn't. Who knows when it will?  I think we should pass a law that if the legislature doesn't meet the budget deadline, they are not paid for the time that they continue negotiations.  And they should be fined in addition to not receiving paid, somewhere around $500 a day ought to do it!

What will happen - they will raise taxes, even though California already has some of the highest taxes in the US.  Gas tax is the highest, sales tax is close to the highest, but the politicians don't care.  They keep thinking that if they throw our money at problems the problems will go away.  They have been throwing money into the public school system for years - and now California ranks lower than it did 25 years ago in education.

They will also FEE us to death, by adding fees to everything they can.  I have heard they are thinking about charging a fee if you use various types of services, like a hairdresser or gardener.  Of course, that would require a new government department to monitor and collect the fees.
