when you call the call centres of major companies and get connected to India do you pay for an international call or a local one?

  1. No, it's a local call or if it is an 800 number there is no charge involved.  A lot of the call centers are now in India because the labor rate is much cheaper than the US and with VoIP the costs of passing these calls to them drops dramatically.
