Question:

Callaway Shaft Flex System?

How stiff is the Callaway War Bird RCH 96 'Firm' flex shaft? Is this between regular and stiff or is this just Callaway terminology for stiff? I notice they don't have a 'Stiff' but do have a 'Strong'. Am thinking of buying one with a firm flex, but not if that is the same as Stiff.

  1. its more of a stiff shaft its just callaway using different termonology to sell there products why dont you try all the diffferent strenght shafts on the range before you buy ??

remember you need a fast swing for a stiff shaft otherwise you dont get any benefit

    goodluck

  2. callaway stiff flex , has a low kickpoint , which causes all callaways woods to fly higher , the stong flex has a higher kickpoint to decrease launch angle . thier shafts , along with every other factory shaft , has different forms as what is stiff , and what is not . the majority of golfers think they can hit stiff flex  ego thing . companies do mark shafts for stiff flex that are regular flex . this is to stop consumer complaints . i purchase top quality aftermarket shafts , when on sale , able to purchase , wrong flex clubs dirt cheap .change shaft . great driver less than 150 . works . try being tested launch monitor , this will give you what you need , to increase accuracy . have your old driver reshafted save a fortune  good luck

  3. This is just inviting responses about stiff shafts - and not many will be anything to do with  golf.

  4. It all depends on how hard you swing.  I swing at 125mph so I got the stiffest (lol...sorry) shaft they had available.  Perhaps you should get fitted by a professional and not just by what you think will work.

I did that and it improved my game alot.  Hope this helps.

Oh yeah the guy below me can do just that for giving us all thumbs down....

  5. Des is wrong even if you dint have great swing speed the advantage of a stiff shaft for a slower swinger is accuracy at the expense of distance

But before u buy get fitted with the opti-fit system callaway has I have a range with full pro shop and they also had a launch monitor and were able to fit the club to a tee   when i was done i had a driver that i could st8 down the middle almost every time I was a big hitter before the fit but alot of the time i had a high flying slice that went as far right as it went long

but now i carry 270 ez and over 300 on average for lenght  I went with the ft-5 neutral with a Graphite design x-stiff shaft WHAT A COMBO distance and accuracy as i was using a regulaar shaft before with i could not square at impact on a regular basis due to the flimsy nature of the shaft
