Hi,

Im 17 and going to be in my last year (13) when i go back and im wondering how good my grades have to be and what the rquirements are to be an English or ICT teacher? Im also wondering what exactley is it like to be a teacher and what aspects of the job you enjoy and dislike the most? My mother is a teacher but a primary school teacher and she's always working till late doing lesson plans is this the case with HS? I'd like to be a teacher because i understand kids and have grown up as one with all sorts happening in my family background and i feel as if i'd be able to be a really good commited teacher.

What are your opinions on the job and what should i be looking to do and find out about etc? How did you get into it?

Many Thanks.

Zak

  1. I have many close relatives that are teachers. It's not uncommon for them to be up late making lesson plans as well for any grade. Of course, I also know some that don't because they do the least to get by. It's a matter of what you want to put into it and the students get out of it.

The biggest complaint about the job I hear is the bureaucracy involved. Basically, everything that is not the actual act of teaching, and there is a lot of it.

The biggest reward I hear is when you make a difference in somebody's life.
