Camera comparison?

I've been searching online for the perfect camera from me, one step on top of point-and-shoot, and one step below DSLR...

that can also, if possible, record videos.

The S5 iS is a good pick, but the only thing I don't like is that it uses regular batteries instead of a battery pack.

So I came upon the SD890, and the SD 790 (yes, I know they're point-and-shoot, but let's face it. I was asking a lot) which both have 10 megapixels, but the 890 has a 5x zoom and the 790 has a 3x zoom.

Between these 2, which one is a better pick for me, knowing what you already know about my preferences?

I would choose SD890 because of the 10 pixel and the 5x zoom its more better then the 790 but it cost more and the design of it is less attractive then the SD 790. But you should get the cheaper one both are alright to tell the truth buy the cheaper one instead.

Since you cannot change lenses, go for the one with the better optical zoom

Theres a side-by-side comparison option on the canon website. Also try other places like amazon.com, or places that sell canon cameras, because they might sell those cameras cheaper.
