Free agents are always over paid.  You empty your pockets on a name tag and hope it helps you in the long run.  Real teams are built on the draft and trades.

Aw, not as overpaid as I thought, but its still way too much. I'm happy for Campbell that he got his dream contract, but I feel sorry for Chicago Blackhawks fans, he will not even come close to playing like a 7 million dollar defenceman.

Campbell got offered $60 million for the same number of years from the Thrashers.  But i guess location played a big role as it was closer to the north east coast.  

I guess that means a SJ Hossa or Redden signing is just about in the bag!

i wish the rangers would have gotten him too. that was one signing i was really hopping for.

It was a great signing for US..know finally we have a decent shot at not only the playoffs but to go far!!

Even the experts said all day long we had no shot or chance.

but with our young talent (Kane & Toews) and good potental i think that was the difference
