Can A Traded Pokemon Spread PokeRus?

My friend traded me a pokemon with pokerus, but it doesn't seem to contract to the other pokemon in the party with it. What am I doing wrong? I am battling.

Give it time. It will spread.

Yes it will, but you need to remember to put in the pc and in a box with other pokemon. That is the only way it will spread, not if you carry around with you.

It has to be in your team for a very long time for it to spread and infect your other pokemon
