I want to attend Transylvania University, info about school can be viewed: http://www.transy.edu/about/facts.htm

I am a procrastinator, it gets worst every year. Hurting grades! Can you tell whether I would be good enough for Transylvania would be great? Freshmen year (I took all 300 level (avg. level courses): English B (1 credit) Science A-(1 credit), Global Civilization A (1 credit), Spanish A (1 credit), Algebra 1 B (1 credit), Electives: SAT Prep Verbal (half-year course, .5 credit earned) A, P.E. (full year, 1 credit earned) A, Fashion/Textiles I (half-year course, .5 credit earned) A. GPA: 3.6

Sophomore: (Most sophomores took U.S. History 300, or U.S. History 400, since we have to take an American history course in high school. However, people who are gifted in Social Studies were able to take a different course for sophomore year, I was one of them.) Global Insights 400 B, Geometry (I’m horrible at it) C , Biology (labs included) B , Spanish III A, English A-. Electives: P.E. (became a half-year course, 4/5 day week it was taken. .375 credits earned) A, Chefs I B (half-year course, .5 credit earned.) GPA: between 3.33-3.4

Next year, I will be taking Choir (full year, which means 1 cred.), and P.E. which is the same as sophomore year. Spanish 4 Honors, U.S. History Honors. I have the grades to get into English Honors, but I am afraid that I won't do well, Algebra 2, Chemistry (labs included).

If I do my best to stop procrastinating, and I get GPA averages between 3.5 – 3.8, do you think I could get in to that college? I am really smart, but I procrastinate, and I could be taking AP classes and all Honor courses, but I don’t study and I procrastinate.

  1. Ultimately, only the relevant authorities at Transylvania University can answer your primary question.  However, as with any prospective college student, excellent prepartion in high school is the way to be admitted to any institution of higher learning.  You seem to have made credible efforts to become prepared.  Simply intensify your efforts, but also have backup plans for applications to other institutions in case Transylvania does not work out for you.  I wish you the best of luck in your educational endeavors!
