I want to have 6 diffrent kinds of pie at our wedding instead of a cake (I'm the bride by the way) but i am getting heat from my fiance, because he thinks we should have a cake...the thing is, we both HATE cake. i'm not seeing the problem? Everyone loves pie! Oh and he gets to choose the food(for the most par, I am adimit about a mac and cheese martini bar), the photographer, the honeymoon, and the wedding favours(which are very cute, but not even close to what i would have picked). I just want dancing, and pie(and mac and cheese in a martini glass)! What do you think, is pie an awsome wedding option?

  1. ITS SO COOL!! why didnt i think of that!! of course if you make it really cute!!

  2. Awesome idea, we had wedding cheese cake...it was a huge hit!

  3. I have never seen pie at a wedding.  It is just too informal.  People want to see a fancy cake at a wedding and it looks great in wedding photos.  Have the fancy cake and then have pies also and people will eat what they want.

  4. I think that it would be okay to have both. You both hate cake, but I am sure that some of your guests would enjoy it. I would get a variety of pies and then a big sheet cake to cut up for your guests.

I think having a variety of stuff for people to choose from is always good.

  5. I think it is your wedding, and you can do whatever you want. I'd love a nice slice of wedding pie!! And for the sake of your future hubby, maybe you guys can have a small cake to cut for pictures and tradition. Maybe you can make the pies the centerpieces of the tables. That would be cute and different.

  6. Pie is just fine. My fiance doesn't like cake so we too are having pie. We are also still having a small cake to cut and some sheet cakes. Maybe you could have cake and pie. That cake that he wants is very pretty.

  7. Haha, mac&cheese in a martini glass. lol.

It will be awesome, in a strange kind of way.

I dunno, if I was doing that, I think I would have a cake as well (maybe a small one) just because everyone is expecting cake.

I hate cake too, though. Pie is definitly better. especially lemon meringue.

  8. I think this is an awesome idea! Another idea, if he REALLY wants cake would be to get a cupcake "tower." That way you could have cake, but people would get their own and it would not be your traditional cake.

  9. may be if you go to a wedding they will give you

  10. You can have the pie and then have a grooms cake.

  11. It's your wedding and so what if it goes against tradition, it's your wedding and if you want pie go fa it. Everybody loves pies and its gives your a different kind of varity. And if your guest are dead-set on cake, tell 'em to bring their own. LOL . Congratulations, here's pie in your face.

  12. OMG! I would love that!! I LOVE PIE!!

  13. Your wedding, your rules. There is no law anywhere that says you must have cake, especially if you don't like it. Many couples serve pie or other desserts instead of cake and no one cares, and many actually like having a change.

There's nothing wrong with the cake he chose. It is his wedding too so his thoughts should matter. Perhaps you could have the baker make that into 2 tiers instead of 4 and give your guests a variety.

  14. If your fiance is giving you grief about no wedding cake, then have a groom's cake. Not every one loves pie. With a grooms' cake, you can have your pie and satisfy his need for a cake. The groom's cake isn't usually one of the wedding cake deals, but is a sheet cake in a flavor, sometimes chocolate, sometimes carrot, that the groom prefers.

By having a groom's cake, you are also taking care of the tradition of unmarried female guests taking home a piece of cake to dream of the person they might marry.

But, when all is said and done, it is your and your fiance's wedding, and the two of you make the decision.

  15. Of course you can! You can have pie, then that cake as the groom's cake, I suppose.

We didn't have a formal wedding cake - we served a variety of cheesecakes and dainties.

  16. You can have whatever you want! My co-worker just got married yesterday and she had an ice cream truck instead of a cake!
