  1. u need a XP pro disc w/sp2 or XP disc and u can download sp2 from microsoft site

  2. Sure, it's not a problem

Just put the XP Pro disk in the computer, it will auto-start and ask if you want to upgrade (It will be the "recommend" procedure, although you COULD click the down-arrow and select to install a fresh copy... don't do it.)

Just click the button to do the upgrade, the machine will copy some stuff, reboot, and continue upgrading.  It should be pretty painless and take about 1 1/2 hours or so.

Make sure to go to the "start" button, and "Microsoft Update" to update the security patches when you are done.

  3. One might wonder, that if you have to ask the question, then perhaps the answer is "no."  Normally, this is a relatively painless procedure that should go pretty smoothly.  If your company gave you the necessary upgrade cd, all you need to do is pop in the cd, follow the instructions and make sure you have the cd key on hand.

Prior to the upgrade, be sure to back up all personal files, as you never know when something "drastic" may occur, as many of your os files will be overwritten/changed.

    Good luck!
