Because I once saw a show where this lady was taking a lie detector test and she got 1 question wrong but she really thought she was telling the truth.Like somewhere in her mind she thought she was telling the truth.Idk.But can they?

Not often, with a competent operator, and a lot of the private operators aren't that good. It not like she will be shown deceptive because somewhere deep inside she felt something. It's not psychic. It's just physiological responses, and when it's done right, the questions are absolutely clear and unambiguous. Not, "Did you burglarize that store?"  It's "Were you inside that store? Did you tough anything that came from that store?" No value judgments, just facts. The game show is bogus.

There was one USSR Mole that passed them for years while working in CIA. The example you cited is one way to beat them. People can train themselves to relax, and not get disturbed telling anything; plus there are drugs that help control body's reaction recorded.

i took a lie detector test a few months ago... and to be honest, i lied on the test just to see if the test would prove that i lied... but i got lucky and my results showed that i passed the test. And that means YES THOSE TESTS CAN BE WRONG AND ARE WRONG IN MOST CASES!!!!!
