We went away on a monday and came back on a tuesday to find our kitchen, livingroom dining room floors COVERED in maggots, we discovered that we had left some leftover meatloaf in the garbage can, we also found some in the doorways of our rooms (we live in a one story apatment)

Can anyone please tell us if the can climb???

we know that they originated in the garbage can in our kitchen, probably on top, and probably fell out of the can, or did they climb out?

  1. Flies lay eggs and become maggots at the larva stage so,   Flies laid them and no they don't jump.  Do you have any animals?  If so perhaps the food was transported that way drug out of the trash.

  2. They are just like every other worm they crawl.

  3. They can jump great distances and I suppose they can climb if they want to.

    They're energetic little suckers.

The section on maggots in Dead Men Do Tell Tales is soooooo gross...
