Can an eletric stove catch fire??.?

my aunt has an eletric stove and she has foil under the burners. is there any way that it could cause the stove to flame up?

  1. That happened to me. Some grease or something caught on fire in the stoves burner and I couldn't put it out. (I don't use foil though). The fire got bigger and bigger and I couldn't put it out. I thought about using the sprayer in the sink, but you don't put water on a grease fire. I went to use the fire extinguisher but the pin was broken! I panicked and called the fire dept. Then whatever it was must have burned up because the fire started to ebb and go out. I called 911 back to cancel the emergency , but once you call the fire dept, they have to come. In ten minutes the fire was out but the firemen had come. Talk about embarassing!! ROTFL!!!


  2. any stove can go on fire for all the same reasons.

  3. No part of the stove will burn and foil will not, but spilled food, especially grease, can burn.
