Can an overweight person Kayak?

Is someone is overweight, can they still kayak? If so, which is better, the ones you sit in or the ones you it on?

  1. Sure can!    Boat choice depends on the person's preference as well as the type of water you'll be paddling, actually.   Kayaking is great exercise, and it's perfect for someone who's heavier, because it is a low impact workout that won't injure sensitive joints like knees and hips.

  2. Yes. They may need a special kayak... laws of gravity take play here... the boat and the person need to be more boyant than the water.

    On top of that the person needs to be comfortable as well. There are plenty of kayaks out there that are made for people who are obese and that should do your someone just fine.

  3. well sure they can kayak  as far a what kind kayak should you use. find the one that you can get in or on and please go enjoy the great outdoors kayaking is fun and safe and best of all is you don't need gas to do it.  keep the hairy side up .
