i have an image of 550*550 (pixels) in width*height..is it possible to take print of this image with a fairly good quality hoarding of 8ft by 6ft...

Depends on resolution of original image.  I imagine the DPI would have to be very hight to enlarge an image that much and have it look good.

Your image is too small to be used in print of that size. For something that big in print, you need a huge image. 6000px by 6000px.

If you stretch your picture, the pixel; little black cubes that make up your image; will get stretched Really badly.

Also; 8 ft by 6 ft is a rectangle, but your picture of 550px by 550px is a square. Your picture will get stretched one way and look weird.
