Can anyone help us ?

My wife and I are both disabled and living in Iowa ,we had a family emergency in June and , because we had to borrow money , we ended up not being able to pay 2 months rent ..We were hoping that my own disability decision would come through ,as it was being expedited . Unfortunately as always the first answer is denied ..Just yesterday we got a 3 day pay or get out notice ..We are simply lost and do not know what to do ..

Can someone help us ?

Contact social services in your local area.  I don't think they can evict you if you're fully disabled.  Otherwise, you could also contact the Salvation Army and the local churches to ask for a bit of help.  That's what they're there for really...helping people in need.

i dont know if necac is in iowa or not but that is one place to try. also try churchs.

A 3 day pay or quit is just the first step in the eviction process.

You have got at least 45 days until something bad happens.  

Go to the bookstore and get the Nolo Press book about Tenants rights.  It has saved my but more than once.
