  1. NO. Diamonds are not combustible

  2. No. Even if you heat them they will glow orange/yellow other than that nothing happens to them.

  3. Diamonds burn at about 1320 degrees Fahrenheit in pure oxygen and about 1560F in air. Burning diamond takes CO2 and doesn't leave ash because it is pure carbon.

  4. No.  In fact, diamonds are created by volcanic eruptions, so heat is essential to their formation.

  5. Apply enough heat and everything burns, diamonds are hard, not indestructible.. Only Superman and Chuck Norris are completely flameproof.

  6. Yes, of course.  You can combust the carbon in diamonds with oxygen to make CO2, but the diamond structure is very stable and the energies involved are therefore large to initiate (start) the reaction (requires a very high temperature).  I would have to look it up, but I think that the reaction output does not exceed the energy input that is required, so it wouldn't be a self-sustaining reaction.

That is all that a fire is, a reaction where the energy output far exceeds the energy required to make the reaction proceed, so once it starts, it just keeps going, using the energy the reaction releases to make more reaction occur.
