Can fancy mice drink tap water...?

...or do they require bottled/filter water?

Also, can they eat unsweetened cheerios?

As long as the water is safe to drink, they can have it.   Mine drink tap water from our well.  I would not use water from any questionable source.  

They love cheerios!   Cheerios are just oats, and oats and other grains are just fine for mine.    Do give them a balanced diet though.    You can get mouse "chow" at petshops or feed stores, and save the cheerios at treats.

They also love cooked rice, pasta, bits of fruit, tiny bits of cookies (not much), and other people food.  As long as it's not too spicey or too sugary, it should be fine for them.    They can eat things like hardboiled egg, but with any meat product if they don't eat it right away, don't leave it in the cage to spoil.    Mice can get food poisioning from bad meat products just like you or I.

Yes, as long as the water is safe for you to drink it is fine for the mouse. The only difference between your "fancy" mouse and any other mouse is that the people at the place you bought it from thought it was cuter or it was a rare color. They can eat cheerios, but only in small quantities.

{Mice can survive on lab chow. u can even give it gerbil food or even cereal (not sugary) supplement w/ small snacks (cheese, raw veggies, p.b, meat, meat fat, raw oatmeal, nuts). tap water is fine for mice unless your tap water is contaminated... then dont let nything drink it! Remember there has been a filtered vs. tap water contreversy for humans for several years! so every person has their own opinion!

As for food and water... your mouse should be perfectly fine!

yes, fancy mice can drink tap water but its been scientifically proven that filtered water can make them live longer. tap water wouldnt do them any harm unless you leave it for too long and bacteria starts to grow. you should change their water everyday and clean out the bottle once every few days.

they can definitely eat cheerios, lots of people feed it to their mice as treats. even other rodents like rats and hamsters love cheerios as well!

their main diet however should not just consist of cheerios, they should have rodent blocks or a seed mixture supplemented with fresh vegetables everyday.

Plain cheerios are fine as long as you don't give them too much.  My babies also like a bit of non-fat yogurt once in a while.  In my opinion, bottled water is a more of a luxury than a necessity.  I usually give mine tap water with a couple drops of liquid vitamins.
