Can females play the didgeridoo?

Because I would like to start but isn't it disrespectful to aborigines or something?

Unless your going to go play for the Tribe someday I would not worry about it. And if you are going to go play for them then find another instrument.

In Aboriginal culture,females playing the didgeridoo is a bit of a taboo. Women didgeridoo players did exist, but they usually played in an informal environment and nobody really encouraged it. In Aboriginal ceremonies, only men could play the instrument.

What they dont know wont hurt them.  In other words, dont play it while strolling into their tribe.
