Im wanting to install a 52" lcd tv in my bonus room above my garage...but the wall isnt flat..the top half is slanted due to the roof...can a wall mount with tilt still be installed considering its actually being mounted on part of the roof and no the wall?

  1. the important thing to remember with install is proper clearance for the monitor and make sure you hit the studs when mounting. these are going to support the weight. if you can mount right below the tilt of the wall and use a swivel mount setup that might work out good for  you.

  2. Roofs are designed to take a load (probably a minimum of 60 lb square ft), so a roof isn't going to have any problem with a TV.

As long as the anchors are capable of taking the weight and bolted/screwed into the roof rafters (rather than wall studs) you can safely mount the TV. Obviously the different geometry changes the forces on the mount and fasteners, and you will have to choose a mount that provides sufficient clearance for the TV to be angled correctly (probably meaning a heavy duty mount considering the TV will have to be held further out from the wall at the bottom), but assuming you take this into account you should be fine (after all people mount heavy projectors or chandeliers on ceilings successfully).
