  1. look up on google there was a rumor going around about how if you could get higher than like a 50 something you could get in with no ged or diploma and you will need your guardians signature to get in since your a minor

  2. Nope.

  3. You can join the Army.

You need parent permission or you can get in the delayed entry program. While you are in the delayed entry program they will prepare you so you will have everything you need.

My husband did not have a HS Diploma or GED, but the Army paid for him to get it and it only took 1 day to take the test. He left 2 weeks later. (August 13th, 2008).

But, a new rule was passed last week that if you score past a certain amount on your ASVAB, you do NOT need a HS Diploma or GED. The only disadvantage is that you do not qualify for a bonus.

My husband was given that option while waiting for the test scores, but he decided he would rather wait and get the $7,000.00 since he wasn't in a hurry and had already took the GED test.

Regardless of the job you pick (MOS), you have no immunity from being deployed. It's at the Army's discretion as to where they would like you to be, expecially if there is a shortage.

The Army is a great career and you will benefit highly from joining.

Call a recruiter or visit a recruiting office and he will tell you everything you need to know. Good luck to you.

  4. No you can not.

  5. First off, get a basic education.  Second off, don't expect to join the Army, or any branch of the service for that matter, without being ready to go to war.  After all, the whole point of the military is to resolve conflicts that politics can't handle.

  6. Without a high school diploma or GED, you cannot enlist in the US military.  Once you have completed high school, you can enlist, but your parents will have to sign in order for you to enlist... and you'll have to be 18 before you graduate from boot camp.

  7. If your heart is set on an Army job, then get your GED and search for an entry-level job working for a land survey company, take some drafting courses at your local junior college and apply for the Army Corps of Engineers. You will still be a civilian, but you will be working with the Army/for the Army without going to war. However, my friend works for the corps and they are going to Iraq in the next few months. He won't be going to war, but he will be in a not so friendly environment.  And if you do get your GED and join the Army, you can expect an Iraq deployment. That doesn't mean you will be in the firefight, but you will still be in a not so friendly atmosphere.

Not to sound unkind, but you seem like your mind is racing in a million different directions. Go get a job at construction company as a laborer and see if you can the handle the rigors of daily, hard labor to get yourself use to the feeling for basic training. Although basic is not hard labor, the days are very long so you'll need determination. First step, GED (maybe MY mind is the one racing with all these suggestions).

  8. Nope, for a couple of reasons.

    1.  You need a High School Diploma.  (The Army accepts a very few folks with GEDs so if you have a GED you'll need to score VERY high on the ASVAB or they won't accept you.)

    2.  You are under 18.  While it's possible to enlist at 17 you need the unconditional and irrevocable permission from both parents.

The primary job of the military is to go to war if ordered to do so.  If you're not prepared for that possibility, get a job at Mickey-Ds or Wally World.

  9. First off you can not join without at least a GED, The ARMY is the only armed service that will still accept the GED. All others want a high school diploma. My son just went into the ARMY he is 17 you have to get both your parents written consent. He also received his GED instead of his high school diploma at job corps. Excellent program. If your a permmeant resident and are awaiting to become a citizen you can join and they will help process you faster. The best thing to do is talk to a recruiter. Also, everyone who is in all the armed forces will go to war. This is apart of the job that these people do for the rest of us can remain free. GOD BLESS our soldiers.

  10. If you have no GED you CANNOT join the USA Army.

  11. Watch Starship Troopers.  Don't take it literally, just as an idea.  The US military is only slightly as harsh...

The higher education / elite people get certain safer jobs in the military and the others go to war...

If you are not 18 yet, your parents can sign a letter of consent for you to join up if you get a degree

  12. NO YOU NEED A G.E.D

  13. back in 98' my husband joined at 17 but had his ged If i where you i would call them they will help you get all you need to list.

  14. you have to have a GED and u might as well not join if you dont want to go to over seas and fight...

  15. my question is why do you want to go into the army?  if you go in with any job, you're most likely going to deploy at one time or another.  the only way out of that "for a moment" is if you get stationed in korea.  that's if you have a job with an opening there.  which i would never listen to a recruiter on what job you should get or all that the army offers until it's written on paper stating word for word so.

it's said that you can get in with out a GED or a diploma.  no matter what. education is an important part of the army.  you might as well finish school or go in for a quick test with the GED.  it's better should you want to make it a career because eventually college education and promotion points is needed.  if you don't want to make it as a career, you just might want to get promoted quickly for the money.  the higher you are the more the pay.

you can go and talk to a recruiter now. see if you qualify.  get the testing(ASVAB), medical clearance, and any criminal background check out of the way.  before signing the final paperwork make sure that this is what you want.  after that you'll be considered delayed entry unless you're 18th birthday is coming up soon.

  16. no you have to have at lease ur high school diploma

    sadly

so keep going to school or go back to school and get ur diploma

and cetern army jobs require collage

like army jobs that dont go into war

ya u will need some collage

  17. at 17, you must be a High school Grad AND have your parents' permission.  At 18 you must have the GED( or qualify under a very restrictive new program that doesn't require a GED) or HS diploma

as for not going to war: then don't bother enlisting.  you WILL DEPLOY.  period.

  18. i have a reply to amy s' answer. False u do not need to be 18 before graduating boot camp if u join when ur 17 they will not hold u until u turn 18 u will graduate with ur graduating class although u do need a high school diploma or a g.e.d there is one gob u can do that I'm aware of but let me say first expect to get deployed the military trains u to get deployed and go to war but there are jobs where u wont be in combat one i can think of is 68gulf which is basically u sign Patience in to the military hospital its a desk job (not fun) but my suggestion is get ur ged the military dose wonders for one personality and character so good luck man
