Can i use bio diesel

will my 1988 isuzu trooper 2.8td run on bio diesel-and if so what modifications are required?

To run on bio diesel, you're best off replacing any fuel lines & any rubber seals, as bio tends to strip out all of the c**p left in the tank & fuel lines.

You'll also need to change the fuel filter once a week or so for the first month or two, to pick up any of this dislodged stuff.

No other mods are required.

You can run your Isuzu on 50/50 diesel/veg oil with no mods either, this won't dislodge any rubbish.

upto 1500L/year tax free. if you produce it yourself.

Producing it yourself can involve such as... takeing a whaste product (ie USED vegi oil), processing it, and filling up with it.

processing boideisel, when typed into scearchbar, will bring up a filtered funnel with a sump... this therefor is a reckonised peice of biodeisel production equipment.

so in short as long as it goes through the funnel yes you can 1500L/year tax free.

no mods for any pre 98 deisel engine, can run neat bio/vegi/central heating oil ect ect in the summer and 50/50 with deisel in winter due to 'freezing' issues!, change fuel filter during every service if your going vegi.

Yes,i had one and ran it on a variety of substances,however it is only worth doing as a cheaper fuel option.Bio fuel contaminates are worse in certain cases than normal fuel,you are also contributing to world wide food shortages as farmers switch to more profitable crops.Any optional fuel source can also reduce your engine life and economy,some alternate fuels,particularly propane gas run the engine hotter,also having an increased risk attached regarding explosions etc.The alternatives to diesel and petrol carry their own problems and risks.YOUR CHOICE.
