  1. Almost never, but in very, very, VERY RARE instances, yes.  It's usually because the mother ate something the baby was allergic to.  If you think that may be the case, ask your pediatrician.

  2. It is not really possible for your baby to be allergic to your breastmilk. Sometime, however, babies can be sensitive to proteins in the mother's milk from foods she has ingested.

  3. breast milk doesn't have lactose in it in less you you consume  a lot of dairy. There are a few things that you should stay away from wheat dairy fish nuts and soy. these are common things baby's are allergic to. cut them out of your diet and the problem should fix itself. It worked for me

  4. most likely not  but can be allergic or sensitive to something you ate or drank.

  5. not to breast milk. But to the lactose that is in all milk. They can just be lactose intolerant.

  6. yes... my son was so lactose intolerant he was allergic to my milk.... it took awhile but we eventually found a formula he could drink...

  7. NO.  It's possible for a baby to be sensitive/allergic to certain foods you eat that pass into your milk (most common culprits being dairy products and nuts).  Using an elimination diet is an easy way to tell what the problem is.

Being allergic to dairy or having lactose intolerance refers to COW'S milk products.  It's a common myth that a baby can be allergic to human milk.

  8. If they are allergic to lactose then mother needs to avoid dairy.  Babies are not allergic to mommys milk but may be allergic to something mommy ate.  A lactose allergy is no reason to stop nursing....just stop eating dairy.
