If so, how should it be administered. If not, what else could be used in eyes that has a numbing agent?

  1. It depends on the type of lidocaine being used. There are eye drop solutions that have some lidocaine in them. There are also ingestible lidocaine, IV lidocaine, and topical Lidocaine. Be sure to use one that is specifically meant for the eye.

An optometrist would be able to help you get a prescription for one that would be suitable for the eye. This also depends on the optometrist as most times this is used for in office procedures that might not be comfortable. You should never use the topical lidocaine on the eye. If you get it in your eye, the instructions are to rinse the eye well with saline solution that is sterile.

Lidocaine does not last long as a pain reliever and an optometrist would be able to hopefully help you find a better pain solution than this product.

  2. I don't think that there is anything available in stores to numb your eyes. The only time my eyes have every been numb, is when I visit my ophthalmologist to check the pressure on my eyes.  Don't try any home remedies to numb your eyes. Maybe you should visit an ophthalmologist before you try anything. Look up lidocaine at the website below. According to it you should avoid putting lidocaine in or around the eyes. Good luck! : )

  3. Lidocaine itself can not be put int he eyes if you want to maintain your eyesight.  There are eyedrops with ingredients similar to lidocaine formulated specifically for the eye indicated for numbing the eyeball so you don't damage yourself.

Not sure why you want the info, if it's for school or research or whatever, but just in case, don't be trying to numb your own eyes.

  4. NO I wouldn't think so. However you can get something from an eye doctor that has a numbing effect. You may want to call a pharmacist and ask them if there is anything you can get over the counter.

  5. I don't think you should put anything in your eyes to numb

them unless you have been prescribed it by a doctor. Do you know how dangerous that is?

  6. Oh, h**l no! Don't even think about it! Any numbing the eye or anywhere around it should be done by a licensed eye doctor or surgeon.

  7. It can, but you must put a lot at once.  How much do you have?  Put all of that in there.

  8. yes

  9. yes, without epi in eye drop form.
