Can muslims keep dogs?

Okay, it may be a really stupid question - it sound kind of stupid to me, but someone told me that muslims won't keep dogs as pets. Is this true?

  2. A law was passed recently in Pakistan or Iran (I think) where, because some study done showed that pets brought people together, they were no longer allowed to have them in marketplaces and the like. It is to keep a separation of gender.

    1- hunting

    2-guarding

    we can not keep the dogs as pets

    in fact we can not keep it in our home

    we can keep it for hunting or for guarding the home (not inside it  , in garden ....etc)

    the dogs make (nagasa) also the blood ........

    we (muslims) can not pray in nagasa
