I am not sure how it is done, but is it okay if the two mothers go down the isle with the candle sticks for the unity candle? And then they set them on the holder? Or when do they light the candle? And who does it????

  1. you can dow hatever you want!  I tghink anything you want is a great idea, make it your own!

  2. If you're doing unity candles, I'd have the two mom's light the candles when they process in.  Most folks just put one of those wand lighters next to the candles so they can be lit easily.

  3. I think the candles should already be there, then when your mothers walk up the isle they can both light the candles at that time.  The brides mother should light the left one and the grooms mother the right.

    Best wishes to you.

  4. Well if you do it that way you run the risk of them coming down the aisle and accidently blowing them out its best to put them on the stand and  have the ushers escort them down teh aisles carrying a lighter with a snuffer you can rent them at the rental place.

  5. The mothers will come up together to light the candles.  There will be lighters or matches (but lighters seem easier!) near the candles).

ADD:  After the ceremony starts, the officiant will talk about what the candles represent & then ask the mothers to come up.
