I bought a marino wool sweater and the fabric was kind of thin. anyway i accidentally put it in the washing machine ( we have one of those new ones that you can wash like anything in it even delecates) with undies that had a butterfly pendant on them and it ripped a hole in the sweater. my mum tried to sew the hole but the sweater is so delicate that it didnt really work. Can i bring my sweater somewhere to get it fixed by a pro? I havent seen that specific colour on any other sweater i shop for and its my favourite sweater ever!!! help!

  1. What you want is French Weaving, and will probably cost more than 2 new sweaters would.  Buy new.

  2. If you can find somebody to fix it, it's going to cost a lot of money.  Instead, why not go to the fabric store and pick out a few pretty appliques and have your mom applique one over the sewn spot and a couple more randomly across the sweater.  That way it would look like a design element.  You can get delicate, lacy appliques that would add to the look instead of making it look like you had to fix it.

  3. Unless the sweater means something to you it would be cheaper to buy a new one than to get it repaired by a seamstress.

Try going to the fabric store get getting "iron on" stitching. If a light fabric with glue that you apply with a iron.
