  1. Those three stallions - among many others of similar breeding - crossed on the native English mares produced a superior horse for the race course and hunt field. Their descendants were bred to each other and crossed again on English mares, and so on, until the horses bred true and they had a new breed - the Thoroughbred.

  2. there patents are full breeds both sides i think

  3. They were selected individually and years apart from one another. The Darley and Godolphin are evidently Arabians named after the respective owners -Thomas Darley, Lord Goldolphin, but there was some doubt of the Byerley Turk ancestry (owner - Colonel Byerley), although there was never a doubt as to his right to be a foundation sire as they were all remarkable animals.

    They were all shipped over to England to be bred with the best of the native stock, I dare say a few other stallions were used but this are the most well known. Many of the descendants of the foundation sires have made their history and been well established in the competing and breeding industries.

    Below is a short list of some of the most famous descendants of the Thoroughbred line;

    Flying Childers, Eclipse, Herod, Lath, Matchem, Sir Archie, Diomed, Epinard, Flying Dutchman, American Eclipse, Hyperion, Kelso, Sea Bird, Regulus, Whistlejacket, Gimcrack , Sea Biscuit and many more

  4. when three stallions love eachother very very much...

  5. Those three Arabian type stallions were imported to Europe where they were bred with the heavier cart type horses. The resulting offspring were lighter and more finely boned than the cart horses and this new breed was call "Thoroughbred."
