Can someone explain these geometry problems?

I've tried to work through them but i don't understand it at all so i would really appreciate it if someone could walk me through it?

1. Find the coordinate of the image of the point (8,12) dilated with center at the origin, scale factor 3/4.

2. FInd the coordinate of the image of the point (5,1) dilated with center at the origin, scale factor 3.

Answer 1

1) Just take 3/4 of each coordinate of (8, 12) to get (6, 9)

2) Multiply each coordinate by 3 to get (15, 3)
