Can someone help with halo 3?

I'm rubbish when it comes to on-line gaming on halo 3, I sucked on halo 2 as well, actually at all games on the xbox 360 on-line, even though I'm pretty good offline. I suck at sniping, I'm always the person with 1 or 2 kills which were pure luck, and i am absolutely rubbish at avoiding being sniped by someone. also when it comes to grenades I always end up killing myself because the grenade hits something and ends up at my feet again. Could anyone give me any pointers or even add me and teach me how to be a better gamer on halo 3 on-line. My gamertag is mike2511.

Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to halo.  As far as being sniped goes, I would recommend zig-zagging whenever you travel across an area with little cover, and learning key sniper posts in the maps.  I think Team SWAT is a great way to improve marksmanship and also work on avoiding incoming fire because it is so focused on headshots.  If you want, I would be glad to help you out some online.  I will probably be online again by Friday and then I will be playing quite a bit.  My gamertag is NUrockstar.

To be a decent sniper online, you have to be VERY good... if I were you, I'd just stick with the automatic weapons and close-range combat--you might not believe it but you'll have an easier time.  Plus, it's a lot harder to hit a moving target.

In fast-paced shooters like Halo 3, the trick is to *keep moving*.  When you're shooting, keep moving--once you're done killing someone, keep moving... zig-zag from side to side while you're being shot at, stuff like that.  Again, it's a lot harder to hit a moving target.

As for grenades, just practice.  Figure out which grenades do what, and figure out where you need to be once you've thrown one.

And a big help for ALL of this is to learn the maps--and in order to do that, you just gotta keep playing.  Yeah, you're gonna suck for a while--we all did while we were still learning--but you will get better... that's just what happens when ya practice. :-)

try to practice with someone not as good at you and just practice on ur timing

Play online more, you'll get better soon. You could try and change your sensitivity settings for sniping so you can aim better?

well my trick to sniping is you line up the head then move side to side to snipe the guy so its harder for him and easy for you. online gaming is all about just memorizing the maps, what people tend to do, grenades is just your good or your not, so stick with guns. really most online games are all about repetition and then you'll get it. just have fun while doing it :]

Well, for sniping, I'm not all that well either but I've learned that it's actually easier to no scope people rather than to zoom in on there head. Most online Halo games is all about memorizing the maps and knowing how to throw the grenades around corners. You could try going into forge by yourself and learn how to throw grenades around corners on maps. I'll add you the next time I'm on. My Gamertag is Cpt Oreo
