Can someone tap into my internet?

Question

I have BellSouth fast access DSL....could my neighbors tap into it without me knowing?

They said they have equipment to do it with, and asked what I thought about it and I told them I would be pissed if they did that.

How would I ever know if they did?

If you have a wireless DSL router from Bell South and if it is not lock down they can use your service to get on the Internet. There Laptop computer or desktop computer must have a wireless Network interface card which pickup your wireless router signal.

If you lock it down than they can only pickup the signal but cannot go any further unless they find out the network security key.

Only if you have a wireless router that is unsecured.  Most routers have an admin page that will show the IP addresses connected, so they can't hide from you.  Use the admin page to enable the security and worry no more.
