Can somone explain the draft pleasee?

i dont understand how the draft works. like what teams get certain picks. how come the winner of the cup doesnt get first pick. and what is the full draft order because i asked before and pitt wasnt on it

All drafts pretty much work the same. I am not a big sports fan so I may be of some help to you; however, I do understand the concept of the draft.

The winner of the "big game" (here it is the Stanley cup) does not get the first pick because they are already at an advantage over the other teams. Usually the team that placed last gets the first pick, since they are in desperate need of skill on their team. This is all developed to "even the playing field."

Sometimes the last place team will trade their pick to another team for a player or some money and one of their own players. I am not sure why Pittsburgh would not be on the draft order unless they have traded all of their picks for other players.

do you wonder why detroit hasn't gotten a top 5 in a while, but they always draft well?

sorry about the pms. thanks for the thumbs down. anyways i gave everyone a thumbs up cause they're right. i didn't want to come off all knowing or w/e cause really i'm not. i know nothing really, but if i want to know something i usually search it out before hand...and knowing about drafts is really key if you follow any sports at all. so goodluck on draft day. if you're a pens fan, they have a lot of really good young talent coming up and their farm team is decent. i actually like watching wilkes-barre scranton games. peace.
