Can sound escape from a dream?

I had a nightmare where I escaped a killer and yet he rang me up congratulated me and shot a huge siren/explosion down the phone. I was in a fetal position shaking. When I half woke the sound kept going but when I completely woke up the sound retreated like a thief in the night like it cut off suddenly. There was no sound remotely like what I heard yet it was in my room coming from the dream like an echo

It was just a vivid dream and until you completely woke up you were still in it.  Just remnants of your mind in overdrive.

it only means that you were not fully awake properly , but i would also have to say , be care fully when going out. and keep away from fights ,

that dream is a warning mate.

My brother suffers P.T.S.D. and i hear him wake screaming in the night. He is often too afraid to go to sleep at night because of nightmares/night terrors. He says that he has more control of his dreams when he sleeps during the day. This may not be an answer, but his terror escapes from his dreams as screams from him.
