Can they give me something to sleep while removing a lipoma and what will they give me i really don't want to be awake during surgery

  2. Ok it's just a Lipoma you don't need to be asleep! It's a really quick and simple procedure and after you get the local anesthic, it's easy!!All you feel is a little poke when the needle goes in and some burning. When we do these at my work, we use Lidocaine and Marcaine. One of them is a quick acting and one of them is a long acting medication.If you're really that nervous about it, you can call your doc and ask him to call in some Xanax or Valium to help calm you down. But remember, if you take either of them, you will need a driver. Also, you can ask your doc to use something on your skin to numb it so you the shot hurts less. We have a spray that makes it really really cold. No matter what happens, you'll be fine! Just try to relax, and remember that thousands of people get this done everyday.
