my friend (mr a) bought a car from a guy(mr b) he knows for cheap, the registration is in the original owner's (mr c) name, i think, but its invalid because he doesnt own the car anymore. mr b was going to give the car to his sister so so ended up filling of the transfer info on the back of the registration but didnt end up registering it. what i want to know is can my friend(mra) register the car in his name even though the info on the back does not belong to him? if not what should he do? i know it may sound confusing sorry.

  1. Im smart so I understand your dilema! And NOPE! Your friend cannot register the car unless the info on the slip is his. Go to the DMV and request a registration form and fill that out and get the all the signature of the parties involved...I think you will need Mr. C's signature too cause the registration has his name right? What a hassle...hope all goes well!

  2. no.  The vehicle has to be registered in mr. b's name because he filled out the transfer info.  Then, mr.b can sign it over to your friend.
