Can thunder hurt you?

i was sitting in my house thunder storms have never bothered me before but this time there was a loud thunder it kept rolling and it shook my house for a few seconds it scared me very much and made me feel sick why would that happend

  2. Your reaction was probably just psychological.  Nearby thunder can be as loud as 120 dB, but since it's over quickly, that's not really loud enough to do damage to your eardrums, or any other part of your body.

    It's the lightning you've gotta worry about...

  7. Thunder is sound.  Low frequency sustained sound can cause a feeling of nausea.  While uncomfortable it is not low or long enough to be harmful.
